Why we dropped the card wall
The Free plan has no AI. That’s a deliberate tradeoff, but it made the decision to pay into a leap: read the pricing page, trust the descriptions, enter a card, then find out if Flo actually fits how you work.
Most people don’t take that leap. They bounce at the card wall, which means the product never got a real shot. We’d rather you try it.
How it works
- New signup: pick Pro at signup and the 7 days start right away. Full Flo, 1,000 AI requests, Memory Pads, voice input, file uploads.
- Existing Free user: head to Pricing and click “Start free trial”, or tap the amber “Try Pro 7 days” chip in the left rail. Same deal, no card.
- Add a card mid-trial: your remaining trial days carry over. Stripe won’t charge you until the original 7-day mark. This way you can commit on day 2 without losing the 5 days you had left.
- Let the trial lapse: on day 7, we auto-downgrade you to Free. Your boards stay. Your Memory Pads stay (read-only until you upgrade). Your data is always yours.
It’s a one-time thing. You can’t restart the trial after it ends. We know that’s the standard pattern. We kept it because this is a real 7 days of Pro, not a marketing game.
What happens to your work
Nothing gets deleted. Ever. If you let the trial lapse and revert to Free:
- Boards: keep working. If you have more boards than Free allows, the extras become read-only until you upgrade or delete them. Your data stays intact.
- Memory Pads: readable. You can still open and read anything you captured during the trial. To add, edit, or summarize, you’ll need Pro.
- Custom board templates: any you created stay usable.
The principle: your work is yours. A trial shouldn’t feel like a countdown to losing something you built.
Flo knows you’re on trial
Ask Flo “when does my trial end?” and you’ll get a real answer with the exact date. Days 4 through 7 of the trial, Flo’s morning greeting includes a gentle countdown so you’re never surprised. The Account view shows a “Trial” chip next to your profile with the end date.
